Quadeca - Vanisher: Horizon Scraper

19/01/2026

ive been told by many people that Quadeca makes good music. after all, he is signed with deadair records, where some of my favorite artists are signed too. but, after reading the genres (art pop, etc.), i wasn't sure id enjoy anything from him.

but nevertheless, i tried listening to I Didn't Mean to Haunt You. and guess what? it wasn't really my cup of tea. i didn't enjoy it, it was too... bland, i guess?

well then, how on earth did i give this a 9 out of 10?

it's for many reasons. just the cinematography alone of the movie that the album is followed up with is amazing. the lyrics are great, the vibe of the album is this interesting genre mix of art pop, folk, world and more.

overall, the album is pretty theatrical, in a good way. i still haven't fully understood the thought it's trying to convey, yet i still can recognize its quality and charm. i might revisit other albums from Quadeca, because i really enjoyed this one.

September - Zadnja avantura

15/01/2026

this is indeed the first 10/10 i ever wrote on this blog, and trust me, there is a few more. but why this one?

well, you see, this album is an insane curveball for me. you can probably notice the genres/artists i orient myself in. but 70's yugoslavian fusion jazz? how could i like that?

thats THE reason why this is a 10/10 in my book. this album is.. amazing. i never experienced an album that felt like a breath of fresh air. thats exactly how this album feels.

feelings and vibes aside, the album is really well made too, in my opinion. the vocals are amazing, you have THE RHODES PIANO (which always sounds amazing, take The Doors for example) and the drum solos, which put up a fight to Rat Salad from Paranoid.

all and all, i must say that this is one of the best albums ive ever heard in my life. PLEASE listen to it. it is worth it.

Lucy Bedroque - SISTERHOOD

10/01/2026

has anyone of you ever listened to the likes of 2022 odetari, 9lives or lumi athena but felt judged by others?

do you also want an album that sounds 1000x better than those artists?

then listen to this!! the beats kinda sound like the aforementioned artists (given that the album did release in 2023). plus, since i mostly listen to albums now instead of singles, this was a great nostalgia trip back to when i was listening to this slop genre on spotify.

Ninajirachi - I Love My Computer

05/01/2026

now yes, this album has been mentioned by a LOT of people already and it did get a bunch of awards, but i still do wanna mention it.

why? because it sounds great, in my opinion. i feel like all of the edm music i listen to always does its best to either be serious or "go hard". and thats not a bad thing - many good albums came out of that, including ones i mentioned here such as LAMENTING MALICE.

however, when you break that chain and you try to make music however you want? it results in an album like this. or f*ck you skrillex. that one is amazing too.

im not gonna type my heart out here, so, to sum up the album: its a mix of tracks that play with that 2010's edm nostalgia (like iPod Touch) and hard-hitters that i 100% will put in my next dj set (like CSIRAC).

i recommend it. its dope.

TV Girl, Jordana - Summer's Over

19/12/2025

compared to TV Girl's other albums, i feel like this EP is a lot.. lighter. easier to listen to, at least for me.

just from hearing the first track, something clicked for me. i could fully relax whilst listening to this album. which for me is unusual, especially in this genre bubble, because i usually have chill, acoustic songs associated with cathartic experiences. for example, Who Really Cares by TV Girl can quite easily make my eyes water up at some points, whilst this album... cant.

id describe this album like relaxing in a hammock, which is tied up between two trees in a nice, shallow forest next to a field, whilst being bathed by sunlight.

now, yes, the lyrics are at some points sad. the first track talks about a summer flick coming to an end, and other tracks have themes of love, relationships and the joys and perils that come with. as every tv girl project does. but for some reason, in this case, its a lot easier for me to not focus on the story the track is telling and just focus on the music itself. and i love it.

this is also my first encounter with Jordana! she makes bedroom pop, and after looking into the rest of her music, i have to say that its not really my cup of tea. however, her voice paired with TV Girl's whole vibe and instrumentals makes one hell of a combination.

id very much recommend this album to people who want a light, easy to listen to EP. its really nice and cozy.

ps: its free on bandcamp! as well as all of TV Girl's music, so go check them out.

Machine Girl - RePorpoised Phantasies

17/12/2025

reporpoised phantasies was my first experience with machine girl. which is surprising, given that WLFGRL is their most known album/EP and that they also made the soundtrack for neon white. however, i somehow stumbled upon this EP and really liked it.

in contrast to something like ...BECAUSE IM YOUNG ARROGANT AND HATE EVERYTHING YOU STAND FOR, this album seems a lot lighter to me. a lot less harsh. although, still, the tracks have catchy leads and the classic machine girl drums we all love. its closer to some tracks on WLFGRL, if anything.

in my eyes, this EP is more of a chill piece of music you can just put on in the background, instead of an album you have to pay attention to because of its meaning and impact. i really like that about this EP, its just some good music and nothing more. it doesnt demand your attention, it just makes your day better.

id recommend it, it has a short runtime of 20 mins and i personally like every track on this EP. just put it on when you grind umamusume pretty derby or whatever the kids play these days.

blednost. - The noise is a fog, look beyond it and you will find beauty.

17/12/2025

this album.. i love this album. i found it back when blednost. was at around 250 monthly listeners on spotify and IM SO GLAD I DID. its like a guilty pleasure, because sure, it wont beat behemoths like duster, sewerslvt or paxnkoxd, but STILL. its such a unique atmosphere that it holds.

honestly, describing it is really difficult. google says that blednost.s genre is dance/electronic. wow. thats like saying an apple fritter is a food. as if that helps me with knowing how it tastes. what does this mean for you? well, you'll have to take my word for it and listen to the album!

for some lore, the person behind the monacre "blednost." is a chilan twink that made this project to try to express emotions via music. and honestly? they fucking nailed it in my opinion. sure, i cant understand almost any of the lyrics because most of them are in spanish, but still, you can *feel* the emotion. as poser as that sounds.

to get back on the debate of the genre, ughhhhh thats rough. have you listened to femtanyl? think of chaser but with one specific pad in every track and a lot of spanish vocals and basically 100x better.

im listening to it even as of writing this! and, to summarize: i love it, and you will too. YOU WILL LOVE THIS ALBUM. LISTEN TO IT. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. I WILL GO TO YOUR HOUSE AND MAKE YOU LISTEN TO IT.

19/12/25 update - i listened to the full album once again and i lied. theres a lot of variation in the later tracks, and in general, the album sounds really fucking good. i lied about this not being able to compete with sewerslvt. it can. and quite easily.

Cynthoni - LAMENTING MALICE

16/12/2025

honestly, this album really surprised me. roughly two weeks before this dropped, cynthoni dropped an EP with 5 tracks (where all of them are on this album) and i believed that it was the best harsher drum and bass ive heard. and then, this came out.

it really blew me away how cynthoni changed since their comeback. the first two EPs they dropped under this name were, in my opinion, atmospherhic dnb slop. then, they remastered draining love story, which, even though it was a really nice project, it still seemed more like a cash grab than a genuine piece of art.

this album was something that felt like a haymaker out of nowhere. cynthoni took an idea of ai corrupting our civilization, corruption in general, slop culture and consumerism and turned it into a harsh, drum and bass/techno banger. last time they did something like this, they made the best album ive ever heard, and it shows.

this is cynthonis best work under this name, in my opinion. they juggle multiple genres at once, going from techno to dnb to garage in the span of a few tracks whilst not feeling jarring or disorientating at all. there are even some calm passages in this album, and they do not feel out of place either.

if anyone wants to hop on the sewerslvt/agonyost/cynthoni trinity, id probably recommend this as the first album you should hear. this album feels like a potent call to action that is as easy to understand as preschooler math, and is also as easy to headbang your brains out to.

ps: cynthoni didnt fully release it on spotify. what a sigma they are.
